THIS CLASS IS BEING OFFERED ONLINE ONLY. ***Allina Participants must attend 5 of 6 classes LIVE to avoid being charged for the full class.*** Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of significant sources of stress - such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors. It means "bouncing back" from difficult experiences. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have-we all have aspects of resilience. The behaviors, thoughts and actions that build resilience can be learned and developed in anyone.
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON OFFERING AT THE PENNY GEORGE INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH AND HEALING - ABBOTT NORTHWESTERN CLINIC. Practicing mindfulness can help you recover a calm, stable mind and lasting contentment even in the face of difficulty. This four-week series offers highly effective tools to help you manage stress and achieve a higher state of well-being. Learn to stabilize your mind and increase your resilience through mindfulness practices such as meditation and yoga. Mindfulness Training is inspired by Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, which was based on a model in Jon Kabat-Zinn's book, Full Catastrophe Living. Mindfulness requires diligence and practice for maximum benefit. Due to the popularity of the program, make-up sessions are not available, Participants may want to consider if they are able to attend all four sessions before signing up.
